Research Trip

Just returned from a two-stop research trip during which I caught up with an old friend and made new acquaintances. Had dinner with David Vaughan of Atlanta. He is the first collector I contacted and met with. We had an excellent time chatting about the war and other topics. He also was able to provide me with a new image to research. In Hendersonville, N.C., near my mother’s home in Columbus, I met Dr. George A. Jones of the Henderson County Genealogical & Historical Society. Both he and his volunteer, Stella Mace, were extremely helpful in providing background material on Charles de Choiseul, who is buried in nearby Flat Rock.
